To celebrate its accomplishments as a school and recognize its students, including one graduating senior, Marshfield Christian School held an award ceremony and graduation at Marshfield Church of the Nazarene Friday, May 26.
Students in grades pre-K through 12th were presented awards and medals for their achievements. There was also a graduation ceremony for senior Matthew Batdorf. A cake and punch reception followed shortly after the ceremony. This is Marshfield Christian School’s 10th year as a school since its establishment in 2008. Susan Ivie is one of the founding board members and also serves as administrator of the school.
“I believe that the Lord gave me a vision within my heart that we need a Christian school in our community,” said Ivie. “The school is interdenominational, so that Christian families from all denominations can feel welcome. We are not an evangelical school, trying to bring kids in to get them saved.”
She added that the Marshfield Christian School implements the ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) curriculum, where the focus is on the learning, not the teaching. It is individualized, so students will be placed where they will successfully accomplish their work and can work at their own pace.
