Lady Jays win battle of Webster County

Posted

Thursday, Feb. 9, was a night filled with excitement at the battle of Webster County. The Logan-Rogersville Ladycats took on the Lady Jays in Marshfield with both teams showing passion and the drive to succeed. When the last ball swished into the basket, the Lady Jays flew away with the victory with a final score of 61 to 34 against the intercounty school.

“It was a really tough game against an experienced team. Marshfield played well, and we knew this was going to be an uphill battle coming in,” Ladycats Head Coach Cory Watts told the Marshfield Mail. “We are a young team, we have a lot to learn, and we definitely got an education tonight.”

“Anytime you play Rogersville you know it’s going to be a battle. It’s a rivalry for us,” said Katie Pritchard, Marshfield Head Coach. “They’re young but they have got a lot of really good talent and very well coached. Rogersville is a team that starts fast and their first quarter is always really good. Emphasis for us, was going to be slowing them down.”
