The Marshfield Lady Jays basketball season come to an end Saturday just shy of a second straight trip to the final four.
Marshfield fell to a very aggressive Jefferson City Helias team by the score of 43 – 32. The Lady Jays finish with a record of 24-6.
“I thought we had a great season and our team accomplished many of the team goals they established with a district championship being one of them," said first year Marshfield head coach Trish Marsh.
"We were very young starting a freshman, two sophomores, and two juniors and saw tremendous improvement throughout the course of the season. We returned 1 starter from last year's final four team and players were asked to step up into bigger roles and they did it nicely.”
This team played a very tough schedule with 12 games vs state or Nationally ranked opponents.
Marshfield won a share of the newly formed Ozark Mountain Conference Championship, took third Place in the Pink and White Tournament and won districts.
Congratulations to the girls on a fantastic season.
