KY3 weather team stops in Marshfield

Posted

On May 9, KY3 made its final spring stop of the First Alert Weather Tour at Marshfield High School's Carl and Glessie Young Community Auditorium. Indeed, it was the place to be.

Citizens from all over Marshfield gathered to check out the live broadcast of The Place featuring Marshfield, answer trivia, get autographs from the meteorologists and other on-air personalities from KY3, also get safety information from the Webster County Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management, and the Marshfield Fire Department who brought one of their fire trucks for kids to check out.

The tour included a weather lab in which meteorologists Ron Hearst, Brandon Beck, and Nicolette Zangara educated the audience about different weather effects on a fun-sized scale. The lab included Mentos and diet soda, mixing liquid nitrogen and hot water, and fire. All to help remove some of the fear and misinformation about the weather.

"We are thrilled that Marshfield was the last stop because the turnout has been incredible," told Bridget Lovelle, News Director for KY3. "We have had a blast here; the audience has been wonderful. We hope to pick it up again in the fall, and we hope people will welcome us back to some area towns."
