Marshfield landed an exceptional five players on the recently named Missouri Baseball Coaches Association’s Class 5 All-State team.
Senior Jackson Vestal was selected first-team for his season on the mound for the Jays. He collected five wins in eight starts, and sported a 3.26 ERA with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of over 5:1.
Both seniors Hayden Curley and Ethan Grace were picked to the second team. Curley finished tops on the Blue Jays with a .393 average, a pair of home runs and 24 RBIs. Meanwhile, Grace hit .341, scoring 28 runs with nine extra-base hits.
Rovig, an Honorable Mention, finished third on the team with a .347 average, totaling five doubled with 13 runs scored and RBIs each. Another, sophomore catcher Wyatt Brockman, slashed .365/.551/.492.
Logan-Rogersville had a trio of players selected to the Class 4 team. Senior outfield Drew Cornelison was a first-team pick, while junior Blythe Blakey was a second-team selection at DH/Utility. Sophomore Curry Sutherland made the team as an Honorable Mention at DH/Utility.
Senior Chase Caffey of Conway was named first-team All-State at DH/Utility in Class 3 as well.
In soccer, the Missouri Soccer Coaches Association also picked its all-state teams. In Class 2, Logan-Rogersville sophomore midfielder Nikki Wood was named as an Honorable Mention.
