The Friends of Hidden Waters Nature Park invites the community to join them at Music in the Park Sunday, August 8 at 7 p.m. The event is free and will take place rain or shine.
“Just bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the music in the park… We want everybody to know that the park is there for them to enjoy,” said Chris Davis with Friends of the Park. “There are a lot of people who don’t know anything about the park and this is a way to recognize what it has to offer the community.”
While the event is free for all who attend, contributions are accepted for maintenance of the park. This who are interested in volunteering at the park can mark their calendars for the second Saturday of the month, when the park holds its monthly volunteer workday. The Callaway Cabin is open during workdays, which last from 8 a.m. to noon.
“This really is a rain or shine thing,” Davis added. “The last concert we had started at 7 p.m. and that’s right around the time it opened up and poured… everyone just sat there under their umbrellas. It’s such a good time.”
