Heart of the Stage: Romance the Night to Benefit MCT

Posted

Marshfield, MO — Marshfield Community Theatre will host Romance the Night, the first event in its Heart of the Stage series, on Friday, Feb. 14 at the Jubilee Theater Center. The evening promises a mix of live entertainment, fun games, and community support, all in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.

“This is the first event in our Heart of the Stage fundraising series, where we’re hoping to provide more opportunities for people to both perform and experience live theatre as we settle into our new home at the Jubilee Theater,” said Kelby Lorenz.

“This event is both for partners wanting to experience a romantic night out, and friends wanting to do something fun on Valentine’s Day.”

The event will begin at 6:30 PM with doors opening, and performances will start at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20 each and include a special surprise for attendees. All proceeds from the event will benefit Marshfield Community Theatre, supporting its ongoing mission to provide arts and culture to the local community.

The night will feature live cabaret performances from MCT’s leadership team, showcasing local talent. A highlight of the evening will be the Not-So Newlywed Game, where three local couples—John and Rachel Andrews, Sam and Breanne Rost, and Kyle and Angie Shubel—will compete in a humorous game that tests their knowledge of one another and their relationships. The game is expected to add an element of lighthearted fun and surprise to the event.

“We’re really excited to have some Marshfield “celebrities” join us for our Not-So Newlywed Game show during the night, which is a riff on the Newlywed Game show. Our contestants (John and Rachel Andrews, Sam and Breanne Rost, and Kyle and Angie Shubel) will be asked various questions to test their knowledge on their marriage. We’re incredibly thankful for all of them being willing to put themselves out there and join the event! It’s things like this that really highlight the community support around us at MCT,” he added.

“As we move into the year, we’re excited to provide these opportunities for our community, and hope to see a lot of people come out and support the arts in Marshfield. It’s incredibly important to have creative outlets, and it’s the support of our community that allows us to continue doing what we do.”

With only 50 seats available, tickets are limited. The event will be held at the Jubilee Theater Center, located at 109 Commercial Street in Marshfield, Missouri. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit marshfieldtheatre.org.
