On Friday, Feb. 7, Webster County deputies were notified that Christopher Doukas, who had felony warrants out of Laclede County, might be at an address in Webster County.
Laclede County’s Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s assistance in locating Doukas, a career criminal just two days prior, on Feb. 5.
“We are trying to find and arrest Christopher Doukas,” the statement from Laclede Sheriff Matthew Frederick read. “Christopher has been a resident of our detention center 11 times in the last 5 years (and still owes us approximately $12k in boarding). Christopher has the following felony warrants: 24-LAFTA-821 (Possession of Controlled Substance), 25-LAFTA-89 (Unlawful Possession of a Firearm), and 25-LAFTA-90 (Possession of Controlled Substance).”
According to the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Coffee arrived at the Webster County address and knocked on the door as he heard a male voice, later identified as Doukas.
After seeing Christopher Doukas a couple times through the window, Deputy Rice ran the plates of a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado that was directly in front of the apartment he was in. There was an envelope located in the passenger seat of the vehicle that had Christopher’s name on it. The vehicle also came back as reported stolen, out of Clinton, MO.
A search warrant was obtained for the apartment to look for Doukas. After Sheriff Cole and Sgt. Claxton arrived, they contacted a female through an open window on the back side of the apartment, but she ignored commands to unlock the door.
After announcing they were entering, Deputy Coffee kicked in the door and found Doukas lying on the couch. Both Doukas and the female were placed under arrest and read their Miranda Rights. The keys to the stolen vehicle were found inside the apartment.
Doukas was charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree and held on a $25,000 cash or surety bond out of Webster County.
He is also being held on the other 5 felony warrants out of Laclede County that are all no bonds expect for one, being a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
