Webster County officially ushered in a new wave of leadership on New Years Eve with a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected officials at the Justice Center. The event, held at 11:00 a.m. in the Justice Center courtroom, marked a pivotal moment for the county as key figures in local government were sworn into office to begin their terms of service.
The ceremony opened with a welcome from current Prosecuting Attorney Ben Berkstresser, setting a tone for the proceedings. Paul Ipock followed with the invocation, offering a moment of reflection and gratitude. Todd Hungerford then led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance, symbolizing unity and civic pride.
Stan Whitehurst then introduced the honorees — the individuals who had earned the trust of Webster County voters in the November election. The swearing-in ceremony formally inducted these officials into their roles, beginning with David C. “Chuck” Replogle as Circuit Judge and Cynthia R. Black as Associate Circuit Judge.
Others included:
• Randy Owens – Southern Commissioner
• Dale Fraker – Northern Commissioner
• Roye H. Cole – Sheriff
• Danielle L. Boggs – Public Administrator
• Michael P. Taylor – Coroner
• Mark Bouldin – Surveyor
Additionally, Austin Graybill, the county’s reelected Assessor, was honored but will be sworn in at a later date.
Judge Replogle administered the Oaths of Office for the new officials, reaffirming their commitment to serving the residents of Webster County. Following the oaths, Stan Whitehurst executed the official Certificates and Commissions for each officeholder, formally completing the transition of power.
After taking his oath, Sheriff Roye H. Cole addressed the attendees with a heartfelt message, thanking the community for its support and emphasizing the importance of cooperation and public service in maintaining a safe and prosperous county.
Judge Replogle also administered the Oaths of Office for newly appointed Sheriff’s Deputies and Coroner’s Deputies, ensuring that the essential staff members were properly sworn in to begin their important duties.
The ceremony concluded with Paul Ipock recognizing individuals with Service Awards, honoring those who have made significant contributions to the county over the years. (See more on these honorees in next week’s edition of the Marshfield Mail).
As the ceremony adjourned, a sense of anticipation and optimism filled the air, as Webster County’s new leadership was officially in place. With this new group of dedicated officials, the county looks forward to continued growth, service, and progress under their guidance.
