Webster County Safe Harbor hosted a coloring contest in support of Child Abuse Awareness Month in April. The artwork of the winners were exhibited at the booth at the Cherry Blossom Festival's Nostalgia Festival last weekend. In support of the month, Safe Harbor sent over 1,800 informational packets home with Webster County students in K-5th grade throughout the month.
The prizes for contest winners were gift cards to Sully Loves Sugar in Marshfield. The 1st place winners get a $30 gift card, 2nd place gets $20, and 3rd place gets $10.
“We were able to get information to students and families in Niangua, Fordland and Marshfield,” said Safe Harbor Director DeAnne Rader. “April is child abuse awareness month and we really wanted to get kids involved in this so that we could get positive messaging out there and let them know that we are here if they need us or if they know someone else who could use our resources.”
