Calling all archers!

16th Annual Bowshoot takes aim Aug 27.

Posted

Stock up your quivers and draw your strings; August 27 will be the 16th Annual Outdoor Sportsman Event, also known as The Bow Shoot. The Webster County Baptist Association will host the event with several sponsors, including Ride-N-Drive Motorsports, Marshfield Electric, and Clear Creek Golf Carts. The event will offer plenty of entertainment for adults and children. "It is a very family-friendly event," Director for the Webster County Baptist Association Mitch Fisher says. "We really try to make it an inspiring and positive experience."

The Bow Shoot will kick off at 7 a.m. and wrap up at 5 p.m. No need to worry about food or drinks as the Baptist Association will provide both for free. "We will have a lot of water available," Fisher indicates, "We ask that everyone dresses appropriately, no one has to hike, but it could get hot." The location for the bow shoot is Camp Arrowhead, but there is no parking at the camp itself. Visitors can, however, park at the Marshfield High School and receive a shuttle to and from the school to the event.

The Bow Shoot will include 3-D shooting ranges open to everyone that uses compound or recurve bows. A perfect place for those who wish to become the next Hawkeye from Avengers or Katniss Everdeen. The best part is it only costs $10 to shoot, and anyone under 10 can participate at no charge.

If shooting the bow was not enough, how about prizes? Prizes will be available to random drawing winners throughout the event. Prizes have historically been brand new deer stands and targets, among other items geared towards outdoor people. The only catch is winners must be present to claim their prize.

So if you or someone wants to get some practice for the upcoming hunting season or like to make arrows fly, come check out the 16th Annual Outdoor Sportsman Event on August 27. For further details, you can call the Webster County Baptist Association at 417-859-5346 or email Fisher at mitch@webcobaptist.org
