The Marshfield Community is gearing up for another big annual traditions — ReunionFest — set for Saturday, July 5, at the Marshfield Community Center (Old School Campus). Gates open at 5:00 p.m., with an evening full of music, memories, food, and fireworks to follow. Admission is $20, and all adults are welcome to bring friends, lawn chairs, and coolers to enjoy the festivities.
This year’s music lineup features three powerhouse bands with local ties:
• 5:30 p.m. – The JETZ – composed of Marshfield High School students and graduates.
• 7:00 p.m. – Papa Green Shoes, featuring Marshfield’s own Jody “Tall Guy” Cottengim.
• 8:45 p.m. – Heather White and the Lil White Liars, which includes Marshfield native Tom Robinson, known for his ties to Springfield’s music scene and performances with legends from past decades.
At 6:45 p.m., a special presentation will honor Marshfield’s Outstanding Alumni, including a long-overdue recognition of Edwin Hubble, the famed astronomer, whose image and story will be featured.
Event organizer Lyndall Fraker noted, “You don’t have to graduate to be considered an alumnus — Hubble absolutely deserves a place among Marshfield’s finest.”
This year’s ReunionFest falls on the Saturday after the Fourth, a decision made to accommodate out-of-town guests and ensure minimal scheduling conflicts with other local events.
Several Marshfield High School classes will host formal reunions, including:
• Class of 1975 – Depot Building (50-Year Reunion)
• Class of 1980 – Cardio/Sewing Room Building (45-Year)
• Class of 1985 – Reunion Tent (40-Year)
• Class of 1990 – Reunion Tent (35-Year)Numerous other classes will gather informally across the venue.
The evening will wrap up with a fireworks show at 10:30 p.m., immediately following the final band.
In addition to the live entertainment, four food trucks will be on site, and Project Graduation will be selling their popular cherry limeades to raise funds. Guests are also welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks.
New for 2025, Retro Zone Arcade will be open during the event, and for the first time ever, open skating in the gym will be available to the public — a treat for both the young and the young-at-heart.
Fraker, who leads the organizing efforts, expressed appreciation for longtime volunteer Julie Lamb, who serves as treasurer for the ReunionFest committee.
“Julie’s help is invaluable,” he said. “We try to keep the burden light for others, but we couldn’t do this without her and our dedicated volunteers.”
