A Marshfield man is facing multiple charges against him for an incident that occurred in April.
Tommy Speer was charged with seven counts of statutory sodomy and two counts of rape after allegedly having sex with multiple underage females.
During an interview, Speer said he has remorse about some of the things he has done and that he will do whatever it takes to keep from doing it again. According to a probable cause statement from the Webster County Circuit Court, Speer said he would also do whatever it takes so that he wouldn’t touch the victim again. Speer said he was doing something sexual with the victim once a week, but was only having intercourse with her about once a month. He said in the statement it was happening at the property where they are now.
While he was being booked, Speer repeated to the officer the sexual things with him and the victim were happening about once a month. In the statement, he said the victim would either tell him yes or no and it wasn’t forced. Speer said he talked about sex with her at an early age.
On May 2, the victim was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in Springfield. In the interview, she said Speer told her to say she did it to herself and that he did not do anything. The victim described in the statement incidents in which Speer would do sexual things to her.
A hearing for Speer was scheduled for Tuesday at the Webster County Courthouse.
