This year, people from all around the area gathered around as the square was filled with smells of food from different trucks and stands, tents, and trailers offering all kinds of wares. Webster County’s newest charitable club hosts its first fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 23 at Spring Valley Venue in Strafford. Guns 'n Hoses will offer food, networking and live music as auctions raise funds for a worthy non-profit. The Webster County 100 Club is a 501(c)(3) organization and a registered Non-Profit Corporation in the State of Missouri which was created to financially support the surviving spouse and/or dependent children of the brave men and women from both county and local law enforcement agencies and fire departments who have died from injuries suffered in the line of duty within Webster County. more

On Sept. 11, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the updated COVID-19 vaccines. These vaccines, are "formulated to more closely target currently circulating variants (Including Omicron variant XBB.1.5.) and to provide better protection against serious consequences of COVID-19, including hospitalization and death," according to the FDA statement found on their website. Everyone six months and older is recommended to get the updated vaccine. more
