Wesley Dean Anderson

Wesley Dean Anderson, 84, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Nov. 3, 1934 to Wesley E. and Helen E. (Atwell) Anderson, and departed this life March 1, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at Lee’s Summit Medical Hospital, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

He was a former resident of Marshfield and Springfield, Missouri. He also lived in Jones, Oklahoma, for 19 years. Mr. Anderson graduated from Marshfield High School in 1953 and from Southwest Missouri State College in 1958.

Wesley retired from a career of teaching and coaching. He also played banjo, guitar and harmonica and sang at restaurants and events during the summer months when not teaching.

He is survived by his sons: Eric Anderson (Helen Mary), Steve Anderson (Kathy) and Jason Anderson (April); daughters: Erin Kelly (Brendan) and Melinda Stirling (Darrick); 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brother, Gary Anderson (Deborah).

Memorial services for Wesley Dean Anderson will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, Missouri. Interment will be held at Marshfield Cemetery, Marshfield, Missouri. Online condolences may be made at www.dayfh.com.
