Ronald Eugene Cantrell, Sr.

Ronald Eugene Cantrell, Sr., was born Feb. 24, 1938, in Webster County to Jasper C. and Dorothy (Golden) Cantrell. He passed away June 24, 2019, in Springfield, Missouri.

He was married to Normalea Nadine Welch May 8, 1956. Ronald owned and operated Cantrell Masonry. He enjoyed restoring old vehicles, especially Ford trucks, and watching Westerns. His happiest times were spent with his boys on deer hunting trips.

He is survived by sons, Allen (Dottie), Marshfield, Mark (Alanda), Elkland, Stephen (Rena’), Marshfield, and Mikal Cantrell, Marshfield; daughters, Linda Cantrell, Marshfield, and Brenda Cruise (Jim), Marshfield; sisters, Agnes McVay (Bob), Marshfield and Kathy Day, Seymour; brothers, Tom (Mary), Strafford, Keith (Cynthia), Hartville, and Larry (Jearlene) Cantrell, Marshfield; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald, Jr.; his wife, Normalea; his parents; his aunt and uncle, Sherdon and Hazel Cantrell; and her siblings, Emmett, Toney, Carlos, Marshall and Zed Cantrell, and Frances Payton.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2019, in Fraker Funeral Home, with interment following in Prospect Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be made in to the Fair Haven Children’s Home, 3132 N Fair Haven Loop, Strafford MO 65757.
