Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Diggins Baptist Church and the Webster County Health Unit have partnered together to offer Youth Mental Health First Aid training on July 30 at the Diggins Baptist Church, 3700 Normandy, Seymour, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This free training is designed to teach parents, family members, teachers, school staff, neighbors, health and human service workers and anyone else who is interested in learning how to help an adolescent (12-18 years old) who is experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or is in crisis.

A five-step action plan in how to help young people is discussed, along with topics such as anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD) and eating disorders.

Seating is limited. To register, go to www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org. With questions, call 859-2532.
