Last week was “Wild” and wonderful at Mission Home. “In the Wild” was the theme for vacation Bible school. Attendance was great, and we all had fun and were blessed. We thank each one who attended and invite them back anytime.

We will be at the fair this week handing out cold water. Stop in, cool off and say hello.

Birthday wishes go out this week to Vicki Fryman on July 2; to my sister, Leslie Vandenberg, on July 3; and to Gaye Chastain and my husband, Gary Brinkley, on July 9.

Get-well wishes go out to Annie and Gracie Byrd.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the families of Kay Cruz, Paul Dudley, Kevin Keeler, Ronnie Cantrell, June Day and Ed Caudle. Please remember these families in prayer.

Sunday morning worship began with announcements and prayer requests. Gary led in prayer. Many quarters were added to the blessings jar.

We sang patriotic hymns during song service, ending with “The Star-Spangled Banner.” I led the singing accompanied by Janice at the piano. Alan Garton held the American flag. Jeff McIntosh held the Christian flag, and Gaye Chastain held the Bible as we recited the pledges to all three.

Pastor Scott Chastain delivered the message using Psalm 33:12-22 as the text.

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July.
