Greene County has more domestic violence per capita than anywhere else in the state. In 2016 there were 3,668 reports of domestic violence aggravated assault, and many more unreported. Thousands of people in the Ozarks are trying to escape violence.

The elimination of violence against women is a top priority of SWMO NOW. We are holding this event to remember victims lost, have an open dialogue about domestic violence in our community, and collect needed supplies for Harmony House. We are also holding the event to be seen–seen in a community that often sweeps this problem under the rug.

In the coming weeks we will post details about our partner organizations, and a detailed event agenda. Please note that the event begins at the Square with a 1.4 mile walk, then returns to the Square for a 5:00 program, including guest speakers and performances.
