Swinging for Funds

Golf tournaments are a great way for organizations to raise funds and that is no exception for the Conway Schools Foundation. On Friday, June 10 the organization will be holding its 10th annual golf tournament.

“We use the funds raised at the golf tournament to support the Conway school district. We offer senior scholarships in the spring each year, we do teacher grants-we let teachers apply for funds for their classrooms. We support curriculum, activities, improving facilities and so on,” explained Lance Vestal, Treasure for Conway Schools Foundation.

The deadline to register for the golf tournament is May 27, but golfers interested in participating past the deadline can contact Lance Vestal at lvestal@fscb.com or by phone at 417-664-0884. In addition to the golf tournament, the foundation is also doing a whole hog and processing raffle. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased through Vestal and are one ticket for $5 or five tickets for $20.

If you are interested in supporting the Conway school foundation there are many ways to do that; from advertising during indoor sports games or leaving a financial gift through estate planning. “We are an avenue people can use to donate money,” shared Vestal regarding what the School Foundation is and does. “We kind of hope that the foundation serves as a reminder to folks that if they have a passion for supporting their school or maybe their alma matter; if they want to use the school, activity, or a department as a beneficiary of their estate, that we can help them with that.”
