Street Fighter 6

Posted

I took a break recently and caught up on some games I had picked up. One of those games got me excited about fighting.

Sounds odd, I know but stick with me as I give my thoughts on Street Fighter 6.

SF6 is the latest in the series, which turned 36 this year, and has seen many changes through its interactions. So what makes SF6 different from the others? Well, the biggest draw for me was Capcom's simplifying button commands.

Some gamers like myself have always been interested in fighting games but were overwhelmed by the systems and how to pull off crazy moves. If you want to play that game, you must live and breathe it. It has to be all you do for hours and days on end.

If you wanted to be the best in a fighting game, it had to be the only game you could ever play. A high commitment that only a few of us could commit to. Hence why most of us went towards more simple fighting games like Super Smash Brothers, or in some cases, developed a hatred towards that kind of game and vowed never to touch a fighting game because of the sheer amount of skill required. In my case, I have other things to do outside of playing one specific game for the rest of my life.

But SF6 is different. It offers players both new and old experiences fitting their styles. I started playing the game in the simplified button style and immediately loved the game. Finally, I could pull off a Hadouken and not worry that my fingers or controller would break. That's not all. The game has a rewarding story mode full of lore and fantastic art, so everyone is on the same page.

The art and music are top notch hands down. Both reflect modern urban art, which you know I love, and holds an archive of previous Street Fighters and even some old-school beat-them-ups such as Final Fight. The colors, sounds, and music are fantastic and get me excited to play.

SF6 caters to players who want to play solo and has a massive online player base where you can fight each other.

I don't have any complaints about this game. It is fantastic, and I could go on and on, but for everyone's sake, I will stop here to give my final rating.

I give Street Fighter 6 a rating of five coconuts out of five.

The game is rated T for Teen and can be played on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox series, and PC.

Until next time thanks you for reading, and try to have a good rest of your shift.
