Stargazer Yard of the Month for July

The Stargazer Garden Club has awarded the July Yard of the Month to Leland and Sandy Wright at 417 East McVay, Marshfield. They have lived at this address for approximately 21 years. The first attention grabber it the very large red cannas in front of the house. They are almost as tall as the roof.

There are also many more flowers that include hibiscus, petunias and marigolds. The side has more large hibiscus, sunflowers and gladiolus. The flower beds are outlined with unique rocks of many kinds. Some of the rocks have fossils in them. The other side of yard has a bathtub with red, white and purple petunias in it.

There are even more giant hibiscus and cannas. The back yard has many tomato plants and a large area with thornless blackberries. Some of them are almost ripe. The Wright family maintain the flower beds and get new plants every year to celebrate their anniversary. Sandy said, "she married her Mr. Wright." It is worth a drive by. Yard judges were Sandra Speer and Faith McDonald. Judging continues in August.
