Pioneers at Shook

An outdoor picnic was a wonderful way to wrap up these pioneers’ journey out-west.

Shook’s fourth grade students celebrated the 31st annual “Pioneer Days” at Shook Elementary on Friday. On May 13, over 200 students dressed as pioneers or Native Americans and presented a program to families and friends featuring songs, dance speaking parts and musical instruments as they took visitors on an adventure through early Missouri history.

Classroom teachers, music, art and PE teachers all came together to present the program.The presentation closed with students all square dancing. Students filled the rest of their day with pioneer activities.
