One More Goodbye From the Courthouse

Posted

Closing out the Webster County Courthouse celebration last Friday, Dec 30, was one final goodbye. Kathy Jo Angst, the Senior Deputy Clerk in the Circuit Court, retired after 15 and half years of service.

"I have enjoyed working with Webster County for the last 15 and a half years. The public, people, judges, attorneys, and everyone in the sheriff's department, " told Angst. "They brought me in and treated me like family, and I enjoyed working here. It is a good place to work and a good place to live. I'm looking forward to being with my family and friends and taking the next step of my life."

Her coworkers in the office put together a retirement party for Angst that included balloons, cake, presents, speeches, and tears.

One speech was from fellow circuit court coworker Cynthia Smith, who told those gathered at Angst's retirement party, "I enjoyed getting to know and learn from Kathy. I am sad to think that she won't be stepping out of the elevator come Monday morning. This place has been part of her routine for so long that she may show up out of habit. That's okay with us.

We might even have put a sign on the back door of the civil office reminding Kathy that she has to stay home. Although we are thankful that Kathy can retire now, she will be missed. She has worked hard for a long time and deserves a break."

Angst gave her final thoughts by saying, "I got to work here, and I will miss them all dearly. Webster County is like my family."

Thank you for the fantastic work you provided for Webster County for 15 and half years, and enjoy your retirement Kathy Jo Angst.
