Niangua celebrates 2023 graduates

Family, friends and community members gathered at the Niangua High School gymnasium on Friday, May 19 for a baccalaureate and commencement ceremony honoring the Class of 2023.

Baccalaureate began with a welcome from senior Addison Terry and prayer by Alijah Donaldson. A congregational singing of “Old Rugged Cross” was led by the Niangua choral group followed by guest speaker Kyleigh Jernigan, former FCA representative.

Commencement was introduced with a welcome from Superintendent Josh Hume and guest speaker Mrs. Kelly Donaldson, former Niangua R-V music instructor.

The class speakers were Alijah Donaldson and senior class president, Addison Terry. Diplomas were presented by Clint Gazette and the Board of Education. A senior class slideshow was then presented, edited by Brenda Cook of In My Heart Photography.

Niangua graduated 15 seniors from the school who earned over $90,000 in scholarships for their future college pursuits.

The Class of 2023 is composed of Jhenna Clift, Brooklyn Deckard, Savannah Deckard, Alijah Donaldson, Brayden Johnston, Evan Marchisello, Kylah Miller, Braeden Pedersen, Alyson Petty, Ashley Stephens, Lane Stephens, Addison Terry, Jackson Venolia and Ivy Vestal. The Class Sponsors were Kalem Copling and Aaron Thomas.
