With the new year upon us, this might be the year to learn a new skill. A great place to learn skills is at the University of Missouri Extension. They hold classes and workshops year-round where readers can discover a wide range of skills, including how to feed cattle when food is scarce, can vegetables from gardens, or even paint a barn sign.
The following are some of the upcoming classes for January to April.
January's topic is Garden Planning, and The Diversified Ag Conference is on January 27
February is Pressure Canning
Also, beginning in February, there will be classes in counties across the Southwest Region for Private Pesticide Applicator Training.
The MU Extension Center is planning a beginner backyard chicken workshop in March.
April will have barn quilt and painting classes with the Greene County Master Gardner's Annual Plant Sale on April 27.
Another class that the MU Extension offers is a Food Preservation class, a recurring class that happens every third Saturday of every month at 10 a.m.
These are some of the many classes the MU Extension has planned, with more coming as the year progresses.
