Motivation from the past

Posted

I was on Facebook one day when it reminded me of a post I had made last year. For context, some of my friends and former co-workers were getting laid off from their jobs or were feeling the toxicity of their careers. Some expressed joy or a level of sarcasm. In contrast, others voiced grief as they put so much time, effort, tolerance, and even their life into a company and felt hurt or betrayed. If you are going through something like this, that feeling of loss and not sure what the next step you should take is, well, consider my thoughts for this week.

The past few days, heck, the last few months and even years, have been rough. I won't stand here and act like everything is sunshine, gumdrops, and rainbow farts.

I know there is anger, sadness, and hopelessness that many are feeling right now in one way or another.

I encourage you not to sit there and stew in the emotions. It's a strong temptation, like a comfortable bed many have fallen into and still haven't gotten out of.

Instead, turn those emotions into fuel.

Are you feeling oppressed? Look into ways of getting freedom back.

Have you lost your job? Screw the corporation, make them regret their decision by being even better somewhere else, doing something that makes you happy.

Do you feel you have no outlet or place to get everything off your chest? Send me a message. I make a fantastic wall to talk to, and my wife says I'm a great listener... I think.

I remind everyone that sometimes darkness can show you the light. Stand by and be a better person today than you were yesterday. I know things will be rough initially, but it gets better. Whatever you are going through isn't the end of the book. It's just a page in the story of your life. You still have plenty more to tell.

As always, thank you for reading, and try to have a good rest of your shift.
