MHS hosts MAPT bus driving competition

Posted

Marshfield High School was the site of the recent MAPT State Bus Driving Safety Competition. The event was set to take place in Camdenton when a last minute opportunity to host the event arose. Tony Blackstock, the Marshfield Schools Transportation Director took the opportunity to bring the event to Marshfield.

“Something came up and they couldn’t have it in Camdenton and Tony saw an opportunity to promote Marshfield and jumped on that,” said Superintendent Mike Henry. “It was an awesome event to have here.”

Marshfield bus drivers also competed in the contest for the first time, to showcase their skills. The drivers from Marshfield were Rebecca Bigley, Ashley Towe and Lisa Vos.

“I haven't seen the the final results. So our drivers just took that as just kind of a fun opportunity to interact with their peers,” Henry added. “Our drivers do a great job. We're very proud of our bus drivers and so for them to to be in the mix with that was definitely encouraging. That was just fun to see them taking part.”
