Posted

On June 13, Nicholas William Barnhill was charged with a Class E felony for failure to register as a sex offender, which is punishable upon conviction. While conducting a Sex Offender Status police noticed that Barnhill had not registered since Feb 22, 2022. Missouri requires that a sex offender re-register every 90 days.

Barnhill was notified multiple times when updating his address and employment to re-register his status to the chief law enforcement officer of Webster County. Barnhill knowingly failed to re-register and was arrested on June 13.

Barnhill was previously convicted with four (4) counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child in New Haven, North Carolina in 2004. Barnhill spent 3.5 years in prison for those offenses.

Barnhill was arrested and is currently in jail, held on a $5,000 bond. Barnhill is scheduled in court on June 28 for a bond hearing with Judge Chuck Replogle.
