LR officially holds second World Record

Posted

The Logan-Rogersville School District has made history once again by successfully breaking its second Guinness World Record. On April 24 of this year, the district set out to smash the existing record for the World’s Largest Game of Follow the Leader, and after months of anticipation, the Guinness World Records organization has officially confirmed the feat.

“It was an amazing experience to see all of our students, team members, and community volunteers pull together to accomplish one common goal," a representative from the Logan-Rogersville School District shared.

"After submitting all required evidence to the Guinness World Record Organization and waiting patiently for their review, it was determined that our attempt was SUCCESSFUL with 2,348 participants. The previous record of 768 was set in 2015."

The event took place at the high school football stadium, with students from every grade, along with teachers, staff, and volunteers, coming together for this unique opportunity. The attempt saw 2,348 participants officially recognized, trumping the old record of 768 set nearly a decade ago.

This marks the second time Logan-Rogersville has entered the Guinness World Records. The district's first record was set in 2011 when it organized the World's Largest Game of Duck, Duck, Goose with 2,135 participants. Remarkably, the Senior Class of 2024, who helped set this new record, were in Kindergarten during the 2011 event and were inspired to be part of another record-breaking moment before their graduation.

“We are thrilled to still hold the Duck, Duck, Goose record today,” the district  continued. “The Senior Class of 2024 wanted to be part of something historic again, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who helped make this possible!”

With two Guinness World Records now in hand, the Logan-Rogersville School District has firmly established itself as a community that comes together in extraordinary ways.

For those interested in setting their own world record, the process involves submitting an application through the Guinness World Records website, where it will be individually reviewed by an expert. As Logan-Rogersville's experience shows, perseverance and teamwork can lead to unforgettable achievements.
