Jones named Associate Editor

Marshfield native and current Mail reporter John "J.T." Jones has accepted the position of Associate Editor for the Marshfield Mail.

"Since returning to the Marshfield Mail, J.T. has blossomed as a journalist," said Mail Editor Shelby Atkison. "We're happy to have him stay at his hometown paper as he continues to grow in this career."

"I'm honored to be offered a chance to play a more prominent role in the community that I live in," said Jones.

Jones lives in Marshfield with his wife and their six pets and graduated from MHS in 2010. He describes himself as a nerd; he enjoys various activities like watching anime, playing video games, D&D, listening to rock and blues, and reading books, comics, and manga.

Before joining the Mail in early June 2022, his career included working at the local Sears store in its final years, a call center representative, associate trainer, and kitchen staff for a theater. His passion for writing is what first landed him the reporter position for the Mail.

"I'm thrilled to continue my career at the Marshfield Mail and excited about what this chapter of my life has in store for me," he added. "I look forward to covering the stories Webster County has to offer. There are many stories to tell, from locals to officials, schools to city governments, and I'm excited to help share".
