Happy Copper Rock Celebration!!

Posted

People nowadays are faced with the tough choice to either fill their gas tank or buy groceries, leaving little room for summer activities. With the 4th of July just around the corner, families may be asking themselves how they can show their patriotism and enjoy fireworks without breaking the bank- sorry, Timmy, no fireworks this year, gotta fill the car for work.

The fine folks at Copper Rock Village decided they would show their patriotism and invite families from the surrounding community to celebrate their very 1st Annual Copper Rock Independence Day Celebration.

The event will include outdoor games, a watermelon eating contest, a car and motorcycle show, a resident parade, bingo, and so much more. The evening will go off with a bang, ending with a spectacular firework display. The best part: admission and food will be free.

A number of military personnel will be organizing the games according to Carissa, a Staff Member for Copper Rock Village.

“Not only will we have food and prizes. We’ll also have members from the police, fire and ambulance departments. Along with the four branches of the military will be here,” explained Carissa. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. Plus it’s free for everyone and open to the public.”

Located at 712 Copper Rock Drive in Rogersville, the event will be held on June 24 from 5-9 p.m. Admission is free. If  high prices are affecting your July 4th plans, consider celebrating early and check out the Copper Rock Village Independence Day Celebration.
