On June 6, MaKoy Miller Gehrke pleaded not guilty before Judge Michael Hendrickson. Ten days later, on June 16, Gehrke was back in the courtroom with his attorney for a bond hearing. The bond was set at $100,000 with the conditions being that if posted, he is to be on house arrest with electric monitoring and to have no contact with any person under 18 years old.
As of this article, Gehrke remains in jail where he faces two felonies of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy (deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14) and five class A felonies of child molestation in the first degree following an arrest that was made on April 11.
The details come from a probable cause statement from the Seymour Police Department. On April 9, the Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division received information from a child abuse hotline indicating sexual abuse allegations and that Gehrke had touched a minor inappropriately. An Investigator from the division contacted Seymour police on April 11 to relay the information.
After receiving the information, Seymour officers confirmed probable cause and questioned Gehrke. He admitted to first touching the minor in 2021 or 2022 and had done so multiple times throughout the last year and up to April 9 of this year. After questioning, he was arrested.
Gehrke is to appear before Judge Hendrickson on July 11 for a hearing.
If convicted, each felony of statutory sodomy carries ten years of jail time in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Each felony of child molestation ranges from 10 to 30 years or life imprisonment in MODOC.
