Fordland Man charged with felony

Fordland Resident Chad Gibson was charged with a Class D Felony for abuse or neglect of a child on Jan. 25. According to a probable cause statement from the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch reported a domestic disturbance in Fordland on Jan. 24. When Authorities arrived, he spoke to the victim, who explained an incident between themselves and Gibson. Authorities noticed the victim had marks on their body that matched their story. When authorities  questioned Gibson about the incident, he denied anything occurred.

Gibson is currently out on bond and has an initial appearance with Judge Justin Evans on Feb. 28. If convicted, Gibson could face one to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, a special one-year term in county jail, a fine up to 10,000 dollars or a combination of a fine and prison time per the range of punishment for a Class D Felony.
