Art exhibit at the Library!

Posted

March 2 was the monthly meeting of the Tomodachi club at the Marshfield branch of Webster County Library. Every month kids and teens meet to discuss and draw their love of Japanese culture, whether it's manga, art, or even food. However, the Youth Services Librarian, Leah Shelby, wanted to do something different for this meeting. So, She encouraged the members to bring artwork to display for a fun art gallery. "It's fun but scary," said Alyssa, one of the members of Tomodachi, as she saw her art on display for others to see. Many others enjoyed seeing what other members drew and held discussions about the various art pieces.

"Bringing these young artists together to show their art and socialize with other creatives is important to me. I hope they left the library feeling inspired and energized by their peers as I did." reflected Shelby.

If you want to join the Tomodachi club, consider registering by visiting the Webster County Library's website: www.webstercounty.lib.mo.us. The club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. New members are always welcome, and we look forward to seeing you on April 6!
