A Successful Swim


On October 7, 2021, the Marshfield High School swim team traveled to Joplin, Missouri to compete in the Joplin High School swim meet. The swim meet was held at Missouri Southern State University and MHS competed with five other teams. As a team, Marshfield finished in 2nd place only 11 points shy of Joplin. Preston Dotson and Ken Herren took first place in their own individual events against the competing schools, and the 400m Free Relay team, consisting of Ken Herren, Preston Dotson, Ethan Rockwood, and Cline Herren, went home with the first place as well.


The team standings:

Individual events: 

200m Free- 3rd place Ken Herren, 4th place Erik Johnson 

200m Individual medley - 1st place Preston Dotson, 2nd place Cline Herren.  

50m Free- Ethan Rockwood 4th place. 

100m Free - 2nd place Cline Herren

400m freestyle - 1st place Ken Herren,  2nd place Luke Rockwood, 3rd place Wyatt Davis.

100m backstroke- 3rd Place Luke Rockwood. 

100m Breaststroke- 3rd place Ethan Rockwood, 6th place Hayden Davis.

400m Free Relay - 1st place Marshfield, Ken Herren, Preston Dotson, Ethan Rockwood, & Cline Herren.   

200 M Medley Relay, 2nd place - Luke Rockwood, Wyatt Davis, Hayden Davis, & Erik Johnson.  


The Jays will compete again in Carthage, Missouri on October 14, 2021 as well as October 16, 2021 in Sedalia, Missouri.
