Last Saturday, Dec 17, the Marshfield Police Department partnered with the Webster County Children's Division and held its annual Shop with a Cop. This national program helps local youth and cops find camaraderie.

Funding for the program usually comes from a grant provided by Walmart. Still, this year, the Marshfield PD received a few donations, including Michelle Slavens donating on behalf of the late Tim Slavens, former Manager of the Marshfield Walmart SuperCenter. As a result, the department had $6,500, which was used to buy toys and anything the kids wanted.

"Shop with a Cop is a phenomenal deal that we give back to the city," Marshfield PD Chief Doug Fannen smiled.

Chief Fannen was very surprised by how much outpour there was this year. He encourages anyone who wishes to donate for next year's Shop with a Cop to call the department at 417-468-4402.
