Hitting the courts and starting their 2022 season was the Marshfield Boys basketball team. The Jay's first opponent of the season was the Forsyth Panthers. The first quarter appeared to be an even match with a score of 17-17. During that same quarter, Marshfield would score a trio of three-pointers: two by #2 Merrick Dennis and by #4 Tegen Curley. The rest of the game, though, would see the Panthers prowl and lead the board. The game would end with Forsyth winning 70 to Marshfield 62.

Last Friday, the students of Logan-Rogersville High school experienced their 8th Annual Career Day. During the day, students learned more about potential careers and the steps to get into those fields. Professions gathered from medical, automotive, law enforcement, and more. All eager to teach the students.

Things geared up at the Strafford High School last Saturday, Nov 12, as FIRST was back for another season of robots, problem-solving, and, most importantly, teamwork. 21 teams participated, ranging from Camdenton, Mountain Grove, and Strafford. Teams were comprised of various grades and ages, ranging from fourth grade to seniors in high school.

Growing up, adults and schools offered various rewards for reading. Maybe it was a field trip, an ice cream party, or pizza. Then, in 1984, Pizza Hut began a reading program called Book It! The program encourages kids from pre-k to sixth grade to read. In exchange, they get a free personal pizza for free. Schools took off with the program after that.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" As kids, we would give answers such as an astronaut, president, or bullfighter, which was fun. But, as years went on, that little question started to loom over and cast a shadow filled with anxiety and dread, primarily as graduation from high school drew closer. "What do I want to be when I grow up?"

Strafford played the Liberty Eagles (Mountain View) Friday, Nov. 4 hoping to advance in Class II districts. However, it was apparent the Liberty Eagles were prepared to beat Strafford on the Eagle's home-turf. Liberty dominated the game with multiple interceptions and successful passes to the end-zone.
