The 12th annual Reunion Fest went off without a hitch on Saturday, July 1st. Local bands entertained alumni and their families, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chad Day was honored with the Outstanding Alumni of the Year, and an impressive firework show closed the night. more

The Webster County Beef Cattle Show was a raging success this year. In total, 106 head were shown on Saturday July 8, 2023. Children and adults of all ages participated, including an impressive showing from the local 4-H, along with members of FFA organizations across the county. The livestock shows started on Wednesday, July 5 with the sheep show at 6 p.m. There were several entries from local farms and ten categories awarded with ribbons. more
The Greenwood Community Club met Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Greenwood Community Building. Members in attendance were Celina Cron, Betty Templeton, Grace Ray, Belinda Rust, Alice Bertoldie, Jan Williams, Carol Cruise, Betty Herman, Evelyn Whitehurst, and Paula Ankrom. Those who were not able to attend were missed. more
Thousands set up camp along the parade route leading up to the Marshfield square Tuesday as the city celebrated its 144th Fourth of July parade. Since its first in 1879, the parade has brought hundreds of thousands of people to the area to celebrate the holiday.  Dubbed “The longest-running July 4th parade west of the Mississippi”, the event is highly anticipated each years and draws massive attendance as we recognize our freedom and those who served to ensure it. more
On the evening of July 4, Fordland citizens lined up on Main Street or gathered at the city park to watch the parade and enjoy other patriotic festivities. more

The Stargazer Garden Club has awarded the July Yard of the Month to Leland and Sandy Wright at 417 East McVay, Marshfield. They have lived at this address for approximately 21 years. The first attention grabber it the very large red cannas in front of the house. They are almost as tall as the roof. more
On June 24, Rogersville held its Independence Day celebration, which was seen throughout the city. more
On the morning of July 6, during the Webster County Fair, cows could be seen and heard as they were participating in the Dairy Cattle show. Many farms from the surrounding area gathered to see whose cattle were the best. more
