We have teamed up again with Scott Allen, administrator for the Webster County Health Unit, this week to remind everyone to be aware of unwanted guests that will try to be a part of your life. Those guests I'm talking about are ticks and mosquitos.

The Southwest Missouri Council of Governments (SMCOG) will be hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, June 13, at 1 p.m. at the Marshfield Senior Center located at 427 W. Washington Street, Marshfield, MO. The purpose of this meeting is to collect public input regarding identified transportation needs and strategies for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and those with low incomes. This is the final stage in the updating of the regional Public Transit Human Services Coordination Plan (PTHSCP).

Last week the Webster County Library held its first-ever bookmark contest. After all the votes were tallied, the Library announced the winners on May 25.

The Webster County Library is holding a bookmark contest which started May 15 and ends on May 24. The bookmarks will be displayed at both library branches in Marshfield and Rogersville, and voting is open to the public; all you need to do is ask the front desk for a ballot. The theme for the bookmarks is All Together and features artwork from local artists. The event was spearheaded by Library Clerk Erin Baker, who expressed her excitement for the contest “I love seeing all the creativity and how everyone interpreted the theme in their way.”
