Two companies, Upside Meat and Upside Foods, were recently approved by the United States Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration to produce and sell cell-cultivated chicken in the United States. Cell-cultivated meat uses real animal cells grown in labs to produce safe and sanitary meat without raising or slaughtering any animals.

The Logan Rogersville Fire Protection District has added several new members to the team this quarter. Firefighters Daniel Brown, Chris Halsell, Ryan Mihalochick, Alex White and Austin Ferguson all recently joined up to help with the 160 square miles that the District covers. Brian Rocker, Nathan Cleghorn, Kullen Boyce and Michael Metcalf all recieved their pins following a one year probationary period.
